Tips for Enjoying the Sun and Sand Safely

Summertime has finally arrived and what better way to enjoy its warm days and balmy nights than with a day at the beach? From sandcastle-building to swimming, there’s something for everyone at the beach. To make sure you stay safe and healthy while enjoying this seasonal slice of paradise, here are a few tips for healthy beach living.

1. Wear a Hat
It’s essential to protect your face and head from the harsh rays of the sun. A hat with a wide brim offers the most protection from the sun’s harmful rays. Look for hats made of fabrics that provide a UPF rating, meaning they block both UVA and UVB rays from penetrating through.

2. Wear Sunscreen
No matter your skin tone, sunscreen is essential to help protect your skin from burns, wrinkles, and other forms of sun damage. Look for sunscreens with an SPF of 30 or more and make sure to reapply every two hours, regardless of its water resistance.

3. Stay Hydrated
